It was DollyPalooza at the Grand Ole Opry Saturday night, as the diminutive, well-rounded powerhouse of talent and sparkle celebrated 50 years as a member of the Opry. Meeting backstage for a photo with the darlin’ of the Smoky Mountains, Too Slim and Woodrow could not wipe the big ol’ western grins off their faces for hours afterwards.

“Last time I met Dolly was 1972, when I first moved to town,” said Mr. Slim. “I was poleaxed and starstruck and I could barely croak 'Keep writing those great songs,' to which she sweetly said, 'Well, I’ll try.’"

“This time around though, she admired my tie, and when I said ‘It’s a CacTie,’ she actually laughed. ‘I get it,’ she said. Hey world, I got a laugh out of Dolly Parton!”
