The Great Flood of 2010

Riders In The Sky had the good sense to be 1000 miles away in Nebraska when the Great Flood of 2010 hit Nashville. Their families bravely rode out the deluge at Creek Zero, and emerged wet, shaken, and thankfully okay. Some property damage but nothing like the nightmare a lot of our neighbors are living through. Ranger Doug lost his Martin "Opry" guitar which was in storage at the inundated Opry House, and Joey lost a prized accordion. Cleaning experts are trying to save some Manuel shirts that were at the Opry at the time of the flood. The toll in priceless, and in many cases, historic, instruments and vintage musical equipment from this disaster is truly mind-boggling. Looking ahead to bluer skies, Riders go into a high, dry studio in late May to record an "inspirational" project. We've been doing these songs "live" for a couple of months and we're excited about getting them down on tape, or hard drive, or whatever it is this week.
