Elvis Presley is alive and well and opened for Riders In The Sky last weekend.
The stunning sighting of The King of Rock 'n' Roll--long rumored to be flipping burgers in Indiana or Kalamazoo--took place at the Tennessee Shindig Theatre in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
"Man, for a guy who's been dead...what...32 years? Elvis is looking and sounding great," said an awestruck Too Slim, bass player for America's premier Western music group.
"He still has some amazing moves," added Riders accordion wunderkind Joey, The Cowpolka King. "Most Elvis sightings are the chunky, burned out, Vegas Elvis. But now he's lost some weight and gone back to the Sun years--that first Ed Sullivan Show stuff--and onstage, well, he's just electric."
"He was great backstage too," said Ranger Doug, Idol of American Youth. "That entourage that used to hang around him is gone and he's just a sincere, fun-loving, rockabilly kid. I realize he's had half a dozen comebacks, but based on what I saw, he could very well come back yet again."
"We asked him to pose for a picture," said Woody Paul, a King in his own right. "And he was just so gracious. Joey was cutting up, doing his Elvis impression and warning 'E' about the Colonel. 'The Colonel's a carney, man,' Elvis said. 'He ain't nothin' but a carney.'"
Good luck, Elvis. It's great to have you back.
