Your Statistical Saddle Pal, Ranger Doug
"Well, Saddle Pals, your old statistician is sitting before the big fireplace here in Tumbleweed Valley as the old clock ticks and turns toward 2010, and while I'm wishing each and every one of you a wonderful new year, I'm also running over our statistics as I do this time every year. Turns out we made 175 appearances this year, quite a bit down from last years record 215, but still a wonderful, fulfilling, and a little more sane year for us. That brings the ever running total to 5,859 appearances in 32 years, and average of about 182 or so per year.
As I reported on Facebook a couple of days ago, California remains the #1 road state with 426 appearances, followed by Texas (378), Nevada (296), Colorado (192), Ohio (177), North Carolina (165), Kansas (148), Minnesota (147), Kentucky (140) and Wisconsin (138). Rhode Island and Vermont remain on the bottom with 1 appearance each, followed by Delaware with two.
Lots of great things shaping up for 2010, including finishing some or all of the 3 albums we have partially done including the long-asked for inspirational album; a big 5 week tour of the upper midwest in April and May, more TV soundtracking, a couple of upcoming appearances on the RFD Network, including the new Marty Stuart episode we recently taped (while I was sick as a dog with flu; the show must go on!); other tours are shaping up and firming up, and there are loads of arts alliance shows already coming in for '11, so that endless trail will clearly be continuing to wind on.
We hope to see each and every one of you at some point in the coming year, and thank you so much for the support which has kept us bringing good beef to hungry people for more than thirty-two years and counting...and counting...and counting...and counting. Your statistical Saddle Pal, Ranger Doug"
